Children often carry the weight of structural inequities. Our fellowship trains physicians to reduce the impact of mental illness in children and adolescents, to strengthen the systems that serve them, and to build resilience in South Los Angeles communities.
Mission
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at 海角社区 prepares physicians to lead with compassion, cultural humility, and clinical excellence. Fellows learn to deliver high-quality care for under-resourced communities, with a strong focus on mental health equity.
Training Approach
We employ innovative, evidence-based methods to evaluate and treat children, adolescents, and their families within the context of their communities. Fellows study the effects of racial and structural disparities, historical and present-day trauma, and community strengths. Graduates advance the field through advocacy, scholarship, and patient-centered care.
