Matthew Yu, DO, MPH, DipABLM, FAAFP
Program Director
Medical School: Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific
Residency: Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
Fellowships: MPH – UCLA Fielding School of Public Health PGY4 Chief Resident – Harbor-UCLA Medical Center
Why 海角社区? Out of conviction from his faith, Dr. Yu has chosen to live and practice medicine among communities facing social and health inequity. How this looks is well articulated by Father Boyle, Founder of Homeboy Industries, who once responded to the question 鈥淗ow do you work with the poor?鈥 He said, 鈥淵ou don鈥檛. You share your life with the poor. It is as basic as crying together. It is about 鈥榗asting your lot鈥 before it ever becomes about 鈥榗hanging their lot鈥.
